Because religion is laughable

Richard Dawkins on Religion

What worries me about religion is that it teaches people to be satisfied with not understanding

Jesus, Help Me!

The silent heavens, so deaf to our frantic pleas, almost as if there were nothing there.

God prefers unbelievers

I'm starting to prefer the ones who don't believe in me.

Thought and Prayers

Instead of sending thoughts and prayers, why not do something useful?.

Funny Religious Logic

Funny Religious Logic Joke Picture - If P is false, I will be sad.  I do not wish to be sad.
It's a funny, clever,  but sad cartoon, and is the nub of the issue of religion: religion determines reality based on wishes, not facts.  "Faith is believing what you know ain't so." (Mark Twain)

I tried for years as a seeker to bolster my fragile faith with books on Christian Apologetics such as Josh McDowell's "Evidence That Demands A Verdict", and I would suggest that a fairly decent case could be made for all of it, except for one thing:

It wouldn't need enough.

"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." (Carl Sagan)

And the claims are fabulous indeed.

Too fabulous to be credible by any sensible person who is honest enough to put aside hopes of an afterlife.
